Also NOTE: # means number, ? means character, . means a chance of either basically 50/50

While I find the concept quite interesting, especially being able to control each category independently for realism, I find the instructions to be a bit unclear. For example, how would one represent a blank space? Is it the dash? You provide what I guess are example formats, like XXX-0005, what does this actually mean? Going by your instructions, the first 3 values are untouched, but what about the part after it including the dash?

@GreenAid as I specified on LSPDFR. XXX.0005, etc are placeholders so people could understand how it works. XXX at the first doesn’t mean untouched. It has to be entirely X so like 8 is the character limit. A blank space is just a blank space so “ “ should work fine. Don’t mind the quotes I couldn’t demonstrate a space. SO XXX-0005 pretty much is just a indicator showing how the script works when they user activates it on the vehicle if that makes sense

But yeah “123 456” or whatever should work fine. It’s just a normal space :) also idk if - even gets detected by game the engine

@GreenAid are you able to open a ticket on my discord. I can support you better over there. :). And it’s a toml file because it’s more in depth configuration. A ini is not a very bright choice in this idea it just really wouldn’t work like that so my choices were xml, json, toml, etc

I was using this previously https://www.gta5-mods.com/scripts/license-plate-changer and found the limitedness of it bothering. This script allows much more control over the plates and works perfectly.

It's truly a beautiful mod, I wish there were an option to exclude certain characters from the plate, though.

@Venoxity Great mod! Could you consider adding these ideas...?
1 - Adding a logger for better debugging purposes, toggleable via .ini or equivalent config file
2 - Adding the option for custom license plate formats based on the type of license plates (to better simulate out of state plates formatting)
3 - Adding the option for custom license plate formats based on vehicle alone, i.e., all Sultans will spawn with the same plate formatting (also further configurable via ini or equivalent). My only gripe (which is very very minimal) is the explanations provided within the readme and config, it's a bit confusing (as a non native english speaker) and took me a while to fully grasp.
All-in-all, this is a must have mod as the regular ingame plate formatting is horrid to look at.
I can't wait to see this future masterpiece of a mod continue to improve, and a massive thanks to you for improving us modders' games! Cheers!

@Venoxity By #2, I meant that based on which license plate is currently being used (i.e. SA Exempt vs SA Blue), the text formatting would change, similar to how it works for different vehicle types. Instead of vehicle type, the mod would/could also check for license plate types. This could be customizable via .ini where the user could add their own license plate id's and the formatting corresponding to each of them :D

Please mind the message in SHVDN release as one of the latest game updates broke some compatibility with the older SHVDN library. So if you get any issues with the mod, please try to update SHVDN to the latest nightly build downloaded from https://github.com/scripthookvdotnet/scripthookvdotnet-nightly/releases
