First I would like to thank everyone who has waited patiently for this update for about a year. If you have been following on the KT discord, you may know that I have been severely ill with a still unknown health problem keeping me in and out of hospital. The chronic sepsis has caused me to have heart, kidney and pancreas damage from the constant fevers. I have lost my job, my car, and can not pay most of my bills and expenses now. I have activated my donate button for the first time. Anything would help my family right now. I am also willing to accept commissions while I am still well enough and have a place to do so. I can do vehicles, map models, map model animation, uv animation, scripting and more. Please know that ALL my mods will continue to be 100% free. I am just looking for help for my family with the only thing I can currently do. But now lets please move on to the updates!
KT7.3 UPDATE!
The KT 7.3 update provides a nicer way to exit kiosk/mission created trains. Trains will now Emergency stop or Mission Abort stop instead of simply tossing you out and disappearing. This only effects the kiosk/mission trains. Random trains will still just toss you out. Maybe in another update I will add the 'leap from moving vehicle animation" for the random trains. Let me know if that sounds interesting to any of you. Don't worry, you do not have to download this huge mod again just for this. The download here on 5mods actually contains the script updates. But a link to KT7.1 is also included for those who do not yet have it.

It also contains fixes including prompts for users who are unable to use the MissionTrain kiosks or enter trains as passengers. KT7 UPDATES!
This one is really good everyone! Now that I have had some unexpected time home, I have started learning scripting. KT7 now gives you a prompt when you can enter ANY passing train that has an available passenger seat. Once inside the train, you can change seats or exit. You can order specific passenger or freight trains from kiosks at the train stations. These stations will now be marked on your mini-map when you are close enough or on the pause map all the time. Each station has a kiosk and many have unique functions. Look for the experimental "star track" as well as the paddle boat steamer and the ride-able cargo ship ocean motion. You can even take a train to and from North Yankton. Most of all the purpose of my new "missiontrains" script is to make interacting with the trains fun and give the trains an actual task to perform instead of just going in circles around the track. As I improve with scripting, I will add more and better features and functions to the missions. The trains have had fixes and improvements to the textures, some of the LODs and many of the collision files. Corrupted models have been found and repaired. In testing this has been a super stable version. KT7 also features fixes and updates to the animation script and the audio thanks to Lee2202. And thanks to an update by Jotrius for the Engineer script, KT has now has more train driving and riding options! Make sure to get the updated Railroad Engineer script here:

There is an instruction memo included for how to install this newest version. PLEASE read it carefully. You MUST remove most of the old version of KT for the new one to work correctly and the instructions tell you exactly which files you need, and which files you must remove. After many many years, Rockstar has decided to do something with a train again. Joy. But for many of you on the newest Los Santos Tuners update, this has broken your trains and left you with just one default train spawning. This patch will place an updated Trains.xml in the new location that Rockstar places it in since the newest DLC. This should have your Kitsune Trains mod working again normally. This is the very fist version of my patch so if it is not working for you, please be patient. I am trying to get all of the changes figured out and get my mod fully compatible again. KITSUNE TRAINS 6 UPDATE INFO:
Kitsune Trains 6 has tons of awesome new train features thanks to a companion script created by the amazing Lee2202. There are many changes and the features everyone has been asking for are finally here! Working wheel and mechanical animations for the steam trains and MANY new steam trains added. But there is much much more! Trains will change speeds on their own. They can have custom sounds. Proper sounds/bells/whistle/horn etc.. Trains will sound horns/whistles/bells at road crossings. Better smoke effects. Wheel slip. New models, more interiors created, and many texture improvements. Stability is fixed and the mod has been tested on several different systems by dedicated testers. All versions of GTA 5 are currently supported. There is also an option to add ditch lights and light effects to diesel trains. There is a LOT of IMPORTANT documentation for this version of the mod. It is NO LONGER compatible with ANY other train mods except for the train engineer script. Facts, changes, requirements, compatibility and reasons are ALL very well documented in the included files. If you do not read these, good luck getting all of the features to work. Lee and myself have been through a LOT to get these trains to this level. Please respect our work and read the included files carefully to insure proper installation and the best enjoyment of this awesome mod!

For all of you who like to make your own consists:
All train engines that are non livery should now have lit numberboards, so use them as normal. But for engines that have livery support, I had no way to have livery support and proper alpha for the number lights. So for those trains, I created a "L" variant. For Lead of course lol. These L trains are basically copies of the non L versions with the number board lit and reduced to just one matching paint job. For example, the es44 now has a version with a lit numberboard called es44l. You can just change the texture if you want a different engine but you will also have to change the number texture.
I have resized the SurfLiner coaches! They are now the correct hight and line up with the SuperLiner coaches. So you should be able to mix thouse without it looking like stairs now.
Also, when making collisions and testing, I always set freight trains to be spaced at 0.1 carriage gap. I always usually set passenger style trains to -0.1 carriage gap.
The End of Train device is actually a separate piece of rolling stock. It has a slightly ''off'' collision to force it to space properly and look attached. I spaced it based on trains using a 0.1 carriage gap.
KITSUNE TRAINS 4 UPDATE
Kitsune Trains now contains over 180 custom models.
Big news for this update: Kitsune Trains and all of its options are now an easy to install OIV package! No more drag here, drop there or editing your dlc list. For any who are concerned with an automatic installer, dont worry, my mod only replaces ONE file. All others are fully added and standalone. The file replaced is for controlling vehicle exhaust. This file cannot be edited automatically in OpenIV, so it gets replaced to activate train exhaust particles. No other changes are made to the file.
THIS IS MY FIRST ATTEMPT AT OIV PACKAGE INSTALLERS! I have tested these and they have installed correctly on my system repeatedly without issues. The mod itself as always has been tested on my friends discord and is stable and working correctly. So if you have any problems installing, please report to me what kind of issue/error you experienced. I have had none reported from testing so far.
Due to an overwhelming amount of requests, I have decided to release this update to include my passenger train sets. These are a work in progress! I had not planned to release these, as Overhauled trains already offers passenger sets. So in future updates I will slowly improve on these new train sets. For now, the Amtrak sets are fully drive-able and enter-able including the Superliner coaches and Surfliner. The Union Pacific Big Boy has had its coaches replaced with more accurate versions based on what I saw here in my home town. These coaches are NOT accessible yet. It is basically for moving display. Too many people reported that the coaches caused low FPS and were just too demanding for some graphics cards. I have added the GM AeroTrain as well due to over 50 requests by name for that train. It is fully enter-able, drive-able, and explore-able coaches. Metrolink and Coaster trains can be driven, but the coaches for now are just for visual effect, you cannot ride in, or enter the Coaster or Metrolink coaches as of this update.
I PLAN TO MAKE MORE INTERIORS AND ACCESS-ABLE COACHES SO PLEASE STOP SENDING ME MESSAGES TO ASK ABOUT THAT. I ALREADY KNOW. PLEASE STOP ASKING ME ABOUT THE STEAM ENGINE WHEELS NOT TURNING. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO DO THAT FOR 18 MONTHS. WITHOUT A SCRIPTER THERE IS NOTHING MORE I CAN DO FOR THAT, GTA V DOES NOT SUPPORT MOVING PARTS ON TRAINS LIKE WHEELS.
UPDATE TO KITSUNE TRAINS 3
Kitsune trains now contains over 150 custom models. Every one of them has had textures, materials, and details updated. Some trains have finally gotten interiors. Some will be in the next update. All of the ymaps have been adjusted to fix some of the train stations that had alignment issues from me converting them. Every train has LODs now except for the steam engines. I have not yet found a way to make the wheels move on trains, but I have decided to include the steam engines anyway. Please note that the wheels will NOT move for now. That function is locked away in the games exe with the vehicle class abilities. If a scripter can help me, that will probably be the only way. Since I do not know what a scripter may need me to do to the model, I have not invested the time in making LODs that I would have to just remake. Since it is literally only 3 engines that only appear once in a while, your game should not notice a change in performance. The bigboy loco and classic steam do not have proper interiors like the Mallard. I will have their updated interiors finished in a later update. Please not also that the famous "big boy" writing on the front of the train is NOT on my model yet. This train still has lots of details I need to add. But it is going to take me some time and I really just wanted to get this update out there. This mod is NOT just thrown together and released. I have had a very kind team of discord friends testing this for the past month. Some kind enough to even do burn in tests using my mod. So I can safely say it should not increase the crash rate of your game. Please read the rest of this book now, I have updated the following info as needed. Kitsune Trains attempts to bring real life freight companies to Los Santos! There is something from almost every major carrier. Over 100 consists, and hundreds of liveries ensure that you should have a very random and realistic freight experience. Consists and liveries are all based on what I see every day living next to a main freight line. Almost every engine and rolling stock has livery support, with most also having close to the maximum (for trains) of 25 liveries each.
Kitsune Trains does NOT replace the default trains or affect the missions that call for them. If using my mod, the proper trains will still appear for the required missions.
The rest of the time, only my consists will appear. If using this mod with Overhauled Trains, the passenger trains will also appear randomly.
All models featured in KITSUNE TRAINS have proper LOD, COL, and damage effects. All trains function identical to the default Rockstar trains, no extra commands or scripts are needed.
All models featured in KITSUNE PROPS are properly setup as static or dynamic models with proper flags, LOD, COL, Vert day/night effects, and damage/environmental reactions. They are NOT simply a "parked train model", but an actual static version created as a prop. All props spawn and despawn just like any other native prop in the game. No map editors or object spawner/script is needed. Props are scattered throughout San Andreas. Check all the track areas. Check near the lakes. There may even be a 1953 alien invasion happening on a small island. What does that have to do with trains?... Well nothing to be honest. But its in there, and removable if you don't want it.
The CUSTOM_MAPS files included are for new train stations around Los Santos. These files are Ymap and all objects spawn and despawn just like any native prop in the game.
OVERHUALED TRAINS compatibility is possible thanks to permission from Walter for allowing me to edit/mash-up a compatible TRAINS.XML file. Check out OVERHAULED TRAINS here:

All train models were kept as close to "Rockstar size" poly count as I could manage. But the texture files will be considerably larger because of all the liveries. NONE of my models are locked. This is for a few very basic reasons. I am open to anyone in the community who would like to get involved with this and help me with future updates. I also embed my info into my models themselves, so there is no point in stealing them, even if you lock them, I can see my siggy in HxD, so forget about it lol.

Trains on both tracks in downtown LS will sometimes crash the game. Maybe it hits the memory too hard or something, I honestly dont know, but simply restarting the game seems to be fine for me when/if that happens. Let me know if you experience this as well. I'm always looking to make my mods more stable.

All of the ymaps have been adjusted to fix some of the train stations that had alignment issues from me converting them. Every train has LODs now except for the steam engines. I have not yet found a way to make the wheels move on trains, but I have decided to include the steam engines anyway. Please note that the wheels will NOT move for now. That function is locked away in the games exe with the vehicle class abilities. If a scripter can help me, that will probably be the only way. Since I do not know what a scripter may need me to do to the model, I have not invested the time in making LODs that I would have to just remake. Since it is literally only 3 engines that only appear once in a while, your game should not notice a change in performance. The bigboy loco and classic steam do not have proper interiors like the Mallard. I will have their updated interiors finished in a later update. Please not also that the famous "big boy" writing on the front of the train is NOT on my model yet. This train still has lots of details I need to add. But it is going to take me some time and I really just wanted to get this update out there. This mod is NOT just thrown together and released. I have had a very kind team of discord friends testing this for the past month. Some kind enough to even do burn in tests using my mod. Kitsune Trains attempts to bring real life freight companies to Los Santos! There is something from almost every major carrier. Over 100 consists, and hundreds of liveries ensure that you should have a very random and realistic freight experience. Consists and liveries are all based on what I see every day living next to a main freight line. Almost every engine and rolling stock has livery support, with most also having close to the maximum (for trains) of 25 liveries each.
Kitsune Trains does NOT replace the default trains or affect the missions that call for them. If using my mod, the proper trains will still appear for the required missions.
The rest of the time, only my consists will appear. If using this mod with Overhauled Trains, the passenger trains will also appear randomly.

All train models were kept as close to "Rockstar size" poly count as I could manage. But the texture files will be considerably larger because of all the liveries. NONE of my models are locked. This is for a few very basic reasons. I am open to anyone in the community who would like to get involved with this and help me with future updates. I also embed my info into my models themselves, so there is no point in stealing them, even if you lock them, I can see my siggy in HxD, so forget about it lol.

KNOWN ISSUES:
Trains on both tracks in downtown LS will sometimes crash the game. Maybe it hits the memory too hard or something, I honestly dont know, but simply restarting the game seems to be fine for me when/if that happens. Let me know if you experience this as well. I'm always looking to make my mods more stable.

First I would like to thank everyone who has waited patiently for this update for about a year. If you have been following on the KT discord, you may know that I have been severely ill with a still unknown health problem keeping me in and out of hospital. The chronic sepsis has caused me to have heart, kidney and pancreas damage from the constant fevers. I have lost my job, my car, and can not pay most of my bills and expenses now. KT7.3 UPDATE!
The KT 7.3 update provides a nicer way to exit kiosk/mission created trains. Trains will now Emergency stop or Mission Abort stop instead of simply tossing you out and disappearing. This only effects the kiosk/mission trains. Random trains will still just toss you out. Maybe in another update I will add the 'leap from moving vehicle animation" for the random trains. Let me know if that sounds interesting to any of you. Don't worry, you do not have to download this huge mod again just for this. The download here on 5mods actually contains the script updates. KT7 UPDATES!
This one is really good everyone! Now that I have had some unexpected time home, I have started learning scripting. KT7 now gives you a prompt when you can enter ANY passing train that has an available passenger seat. Once inside the train, you can change seats or exit. You can order specific passenger or freight trains from kiosks at the train stations. These stations will now be marked on your mini-map when you are close enough or on the pause map all the time. Each station has a kiosk and many have unique functions. Look for the experimental "star track" as well as the paddle boat steamer and the ride-able cargo ship ocean motion. You can even take a train to and from North Yankton. Most of all the purpose of my new "missiontrains" script is to make interacting with the trains fun and give the trains an actual task to perform instead of just going in circles around the track. As I improve with scripting, I will add more and better features and functions to the missions. The trains have had fixes and improvements to the textures, some of the LODs and many of the collision files. Corrupted models have been found and repaired. In testing this has been a super stable version. KT7 also features fixes and updates to the animation script and the audio thanks to Lee2202. And thanks to an update by Jotrius for the Engineer script, KT has now has more train driving and riding options! Make sure to get the updated Railroad Engineer script here:

There is an instruction memo included for how to install this newest version. PLEASE read it carefully. You MUST remove most of the old version of KT for the new one to work correctly and the instructions tell you exactly which files you need, and which files you must remove. After many many years, Rockstar has decided to do something with a train again. Joy. But for many of you on the newest Los Santos Tuners update, this has broken your trains and left you with just one default train spawning. This patch will place an updated Trains.xml in the new location that Rockstar places it in since the newest DLC. This should have your Kitsune Trains mod working again normally. This is the very fist version of my patch so if it is not working for you, please be patient. I am trying to get all of the changes figured out and get my mod fully compatible again. KITSUNE TRAINS 6 UPDATE INFO:
Kitsune Trains 6 has tons of awesome new train features thanks to a companion script created by the amazing Lee2202. There are many changes and the features everyone has been asking for are finally here! Working wheel and mechanical animations for the steam trains and MANY new steam trains added. But there is much much more! Trains will change speeds on their own. They can have custom sounds. Proper sounds/bells/whistle/horn etc.. Trains will sound horns/whistles/bells at road crossings. Better smoke effects. Wheel slip. New models, more interiors created, and many texture improvements. Stability is fixed and the mod has been tested on several different systems by dedicated testers. All versions of GTA 5 are currently supported. There is also an option to add ditch lights and light effects to diesel trains. There is a LOT of IMPORTANT documentation for this version of the mod. It is NO LONGER compatible with ANY other train mods except for the train engineer script. Facts, changes, requirements, compatibility and reasons are ALL very well documented in the included files. If you do not read these, good luck getting all of the features to work. Lee and myself have been through a LOT to get these trains to this level. Please respect our work and read the included files carefully to insure proper installation and the best enjoyment of this awesome mod!

For all of you who like to make your own consists:
All train engines that are non livery should now have lit numberboards, so use them as normal. But for engines that have livery support, I had no way to have livery support and proper alpha for the number lights. So for those trains, I created a "L" variant. For Lead of course lol. These L trains are basically copies of the non L versions with the number board lit and reduced to just one matching paint job. For example, the es44 now has a version with a lit numberboard called es44l. You can just change the texture if you want a different engine but you will also have to change the number texture.
I have resized the SurfLiner coaches! They are now the correct hight and line up with the SuperLiner coaches. So you should be able to mix thouse without it looking like stairs now.
Also, when making collisions and testing, I always set freight trains to be spaced at 0.1 carriage gap. I always usually set passenger style trains to -0.1 carriage gap.
The End of Train device is actually a separate piece of rolling stock. It has a slightly ''off'' collision to force it to space properly and look attached. I spaced it based on trains using a 0.1 carriage gap.
KITSUNE TRAINS 4 UPDATE
Kitsune Trains now contains over 180 custom models.
Big news for this update: Kitsune Trains and all of its options are now an easy to install OIV package! No more drag here, drop there or editing your dlc list. For any who are concerned with an automatic installer, dont worry, my mod only replaces ONE file. All others are fully added and standalone. The file replaced is for controlling vehicle exhaust. This file cannot be edited automatically in OpenIV, so it gets replaced to activate train exhaust particles. No other changes are made to the file.
THIS IS MY FIRST ATTEMPT AT OIV PACKAGE INSTALLERS! I have tested these and they have installed correctly on my system repeatedly without issues. The mod itself as always has been tested on my friends discord and is stable and working correctly. So if you have any problems installing, please report to me what kind of issue/error you experienced. I have had none reported from testing so far.
Due to an overwhelming amount of requests, I have decided to release this update to include my passenger train sets. These are a work in progress! I had not planned to release these, as Overhauled trains already offers passenger sets. So in future updates I will slowly improve on these new train sets. For now, the Amtrak sets are fully drive-able and enter-able including the Superliner coaches and Surfliner. The Union Pacific Big Boy has had its coaches replaced with more accurate versions based on what I saw here in my home town. These coaches are NOT accessible yet. It is basically for moving display. Too many people reported that the coaches caused low FPS and were just too demanding for some graphics cards. I have added the GM AeroTrain as well due to over 50 requests by name for that train. It is fully enter-able, drive-able, and explore-able coaches. Metrolink and Coaster trains can be driven, but the coaches for now are just for visual effect, you cannot ride in, or enter the Coaster or Metrolink coaches as of this update.

This download contains script fixes by Lee2202 and myself for users who do not have English as their Windows setting. It also contains fixes including prompts for users who are unable to use the MissionTrain kiosks or enter trains as passengers. Don't worry, you do not have to download this huge mod again just for this. The download here on 5mods actually contains the script updates. But a link to KT7.1 is also included for those who do not yet have it.
KT7 UPDATES!
This one is really good everyone! Now that I have had some unexpected time home, I have started learning scripting. KT7 now gives you a prompt when you can enter ANY passing train that has an available passenger seat. Once inside the train, you can change seats or exit. You can order specific passenger or freight trains from kiosks at the train stations. These stations will now be marked on your mini-map when you are close enough or on the pause map all the time. Each station has a kiosk and many have unique functions. Look for the experimental "star track" as well as the paddle boat steamer and the ride-able cargo ship ocean motion. You can even take a train to and from North Yankton. Most of all the purpose of my new "missiontrains" script is to make interacting with the trains fun and give the trains an actual task to perform instead of just going in circles around the track. As I improve with scripting, I will add more and better features and functions to the missions. The trains have had fixes and improvements to the textures, some of the LODs and many of the collision files. Corrupted models have been found and repaired. In testing this has been a super stable version. KT7 also features fixes and updates to the animation script and the audio thanks to Lee2202. And thanks to an update by Jotrius for the Engineer script, KT has now has more train driving and riding options! Make sure to get the updated Railroad Engineer script here:

There is an instruction memo included for how to install this newest version. PLEASE read it carefully. You MUST remove most of the old version of KT for the new one to work correctly and the instructions tell you exactly which files you need, and which files you must remove. Please read it carefully to avoid problems and @ me here or check out the KT discord if you need more help or assistance. There is probably more, but honestly I cannot think of it right now. KITSUNE TRAINS 6.1 UPDATE INFO:
After many many years, Rockstar has decided to do something with a train again. Joy. But for many of you on the newest Los Santos Tuners update, this has broken your trains and left you with just one default train spawning. This patch will place an updated Trains.xml in the new location that Rockstar places it in since the newest DLC. This should have your Kitsune Trains mod working again normally. This is the very fist version of my patch so if it is not working for you, please be patient. I am trying to get all of the changes figured out and get my mod fully compatible again. KITSUNE TRAINS 6 UPDATE INFO:
Kitsune Trains 6 has tons of awesome new train features thanks to a companion script created by the amazing Lee2202. There are many changes and the features everyone has been asking for are finally here! Working wheel and mechanical animations for the steam trains and MANY new steam trains added. But there is much much more! Trains will change speeds on their own. They can have custom sounds. Proper sounds/bells/whistle/horn etc.. Trains will sound horns/whistles/bells at road crossings. Better smoke effects. Wheel slip. New models, more interiors created, and many texture improvements. Stability is fixed and the mod has been tested on several different systems by dedicated testers. All versions of GTA 5 are currently supported. There is also an option to add ditch lights and light effects to diesel trains. There is a LOT of IMPORTANT documentation for this version of the mod. It is NO LONGER compatible with ANY other train mods except for the train engineer script. Facts, changes, requirements, compatibility and reasons are ALL very well documented in the included files. If you do not read these, good luck getting all of the features to work. Lee and myself have been through a LOT to get these trains to this level. Please respect our work and read the included files carefully to insure proper installation and the best enjoyment of this awesome mod!

For all of you who like to make your own consists:
All train engines that are non livery should now have lit numberboards, so use them as normal. But for engines that have livery support, I had no way to have livery support and proper alpha for the number lights. So for those trains, I created a "L" variant. For Lead of course lol. These L trains are basically copies of the non L versions with the number board lit and reduced to just one matching paint job. For example, the es44 now has a version with a lit numberboard called es44l. You can just change the texture if you want a different engine but you will also have to change the number texture.
I have resized the SurfLiner coaches! They are now the correct hight and line up with the SuperLiner coaches. So you should be able to mix thouse without it looking like stairs now.
Also, when making collisions and testing, I always set freight trains to be spaced at 0.1 carriage gap. I always usually set passenger style trains to -0.1 carriage gap.
The End of Train device is actually a separate piece of rolling stock. It has a slightly ''off'' collision to force it to space properly and look attached. I spaced it based on trains using a 0.1 carriage gap.
KITSUNE TRAINS 4 UPDATE
Kitsune Trains now contains over 180 custom models.
Big news for this update: Kitsune Trains and all of its options are now an easy to install OIV package! No more drag here, drop there or editing your dlc list. For any who are concerned with an automatic installer, dont worry, my mod only replaces ONE file. All others are fully added and standalone. The file replaced is for controlling vehicle exhaust. This file cannot be edited automatically in OpenIV, so it gets replaced to activate train exhaust particles. No other changes are made to the file.
THIS IS MY FIRST ATTEMPT AT OIV PACKAGE INSTALLERS! I have tested these and they have installed correctly on my system repeatedly without issues. The mod itself as always has been tested on my friends discord and is stable and working correctly. So if you have any problems installing, please report to me what kind of issue/error you experienced. I have had none reported from testing so far.
Due to an overwhelming amount of requests, I have decided to release this update to include my passenger train sets. These are a work in progress! I had not planned to release these, as Overhauled trains already offers passenger sets. So in future updates I will slowly improve on these new train sets. For now, the Amtrak sets are fully drive-able and enter-able including the Superliner coaches and Surfliner. The Union Pacific Big Boy has had its coaches replaced with more accurate versions based on what I saw here in my home town. These coaches are NOT accessible yet. It is basically for moving display. Too many people reported that the coaches caused low FPS and were just too demanding for some graphics cards. I have added the GM AeroTrain as well due to over 50 requests by name for that train. It is fully enter-able, drive-able, and explore-able coaches. Metrolink and Coaster trains can be driven, but the coaches for now are just for visual effect, you cannot ride in, or enter the Coaster or Metrolink coaches as of this update.
I PLAN TO MAKE MORE INTERIORS AND ACCESS-ABLE COACHES SO PLEASE STOP SENDING ME MESSAGES TO ASK ABOUT THAT. I ALREADY KNOW. PLEASE STOP ASKING ME ABOUT THE STEAM ENGINE WHEELS NOT TURNING. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO DO THAT FOR 18 MONTHS. WITHOUT A SCRIPTER THERE IS NOTHING MORE I CAN DO FOR THAT, GTA V DOES NOT SUPPORT MOVING PARTS ON TRAINS LIKE WHEELS.
UPDATE TO KITSUNE TRAINS 3
Kitsune trains now contains over 150 custom models. Every one of them has had textures, materials, and details updated. Some trains have finally gotten interiors. Some will be in the next update. All of the ymaps have been adjusted to fix some of the train stations that had alignment issues from me converting them. Every train has LODs now except for the steam engines. I have not yet found a way to make the wheels move on trains, but I have decided to include the steam engines anyway. Please note that the wheels will NOT move for now. That function is locked away in the games exe with the vehicle class abilities. If a scripter can help me, that will probably be the only way. Since I do not know what a scripter may need me to do to the model, I have not invested the time in making LODs that I would have to just remake. Since it is literally only 3 engines that only appear once in a while, your game should not notice a change in performance. The bigboy loco and classic steam do not have proper interiors like the Mallard. I will have their updated interiors finished in a later update. Please not also that the famous "big boy" writing on the front of the train is NOT on my model yet. This train still has lots of details I need to add. But it is going to take me some time and I really just wanted to get this update out there. This mod is NOT just thrown together and released. I have had a very kind team of discord friends testing this for the past month. Some kind enough to even do burn in tests using my mod. So I can safely say it should not increase the crash rate of your game. Please read the rest of this book now, I have updated the following info as needed. Kitsune Trains attempts to bring real life freight companies to Los Santos! There is something from almost every major carrier. Over 100 consists, and hundreds of liveries ensure that you should have a very random and realistic freight experience. Consists and liveries are all based on what I see every day living next to a main freight line. Almost every engine and rolling stock has livery support, with most also having close to the maximum (for trains) of 25 liveries each.
Kitsune Trains does NOT replace the default trains or affect the missions that call for them. If using my mod, the proper trains will still appear for the required missions.
The rest of the time, only my consists will appear. If using this mod with Overhauled Trains, the passenger trains will also appear randomly.
All models featured in KITSUNE TRAINS have proper LOD, COL, and damage effects. All trains function identical to the default Rockstar trains, no extra commands or scripts are needed.
All models featured in KITSUNE PROPS are properly setup as static or dynamic models with proper flags, LOD, COL, Vert day/night effects, and damage/environmental reactions. They are NOT simply a "parked train model", but an actual static version created as a prop. All props spawn and despawn just like any other native prop in the game. No map editors or object spawner/script is needed. Props are scattered throughout San Andreas. Check all the track areas. Check near the lakes. There may even be a 1953 alien invasion happening on a small island. What does that have to do with trains?... Well nothing to be honest. But its in there, and removable if you don't want it.
The CUSTOM_MAPS files included are for new train stations around Los Santos. These files are Ymap and all objects spawn and despawn just like any native prop in the game.

ABOUT MY MODELS:
All train models were kept as close to "Rockstar size" poly count as I could manage. But the texture files will be considerably larger because of all the liveries. NONE of my models are locked. This is for a few very basic reasons. I am open to anyone in the community who would like to get involved with this and help me with future updates. I also embed my info into my models themselves, so there is no point in stealing them, even if you lock them, I can see my siggy in HxD, so forget about it lol.

Trains on both tracks in downtown LS will sometimes crash the game. Maybe it hits the memory too hard or something, I honestly dont know, but simply restarting the game seems to be fine for me when/if that happens. Let me know if you experience this as well. I'm always looking to make my mods more stable.

Hello everyone. For those who did not know, I have been very sick for a while now. My condition is unfortunately getting worse. Today I also received my eviction notice. I will probably be away for a while, but I promise I will return to Kitsune Trains as soon as I have a home and can recover. May I ask about the Railroad Engineer mod, can there be a text file of all of the loco's names so we can drive the trains and derail them?
I mean to add the locos name to the J10 Railroad engineer .ini so we can blow up the trains

Again nevermind, I edited train.xml. it's done.. but is there an option to reduce how often trains spawn? It's sometimes annoying to see trains pass so frequently when you spend lots of time in a place next to the train tracks
@Foxunitone Do I still put all the files from the "Track Data" folder in mods/update/update.rpf/common/data/levels/gta5 even though only the trains.xml file is in this folder?
Is there a way to configure it to return with two locomotives together as in the previous version? I preferred it like before.

Again, I managed to reduce the sound volume, it took some time to edit all the sound files in Audacity. But it's worth it..
The final thing I need to be 1000 percent satisfied with the trains in the game is to reduce how often they spawn.. I wish there's a mod for train schedules

I like the mod but it causes too much texture loss issues on my game.

Any way for this to be updated? The audio files of the train itself, and the train horn are a bit loud. Not to mention they spawn way too often. Unless there's a fix to this. Otherwise great overall mod, love it. Would recommend to anyone who doesn't like the base train.
