So does this mean that character models could be edited as well?

Hey I really want to use this sword, and I put it in the correct location, and when I click on the files in the folder, and they show up as the sword, but then when I go to play GTA, it "verifies download cache" and gets rid of the sword and replaces it with the original bat again. Is there any way to get around this?
