Are you annoyed by your favourite car's behaviour on the road? Did you try to fine-tweak the handling up to no avail? Are you crashing into trees endlessly and you are 100% positive that it's not your driving skills? Then this mod is for you!
It takes the loose and poorly made traction values set up by R* and throws them out of the window(off you go!). With this mod you will have more grip, better steering at high speeds and Franklin's frequent visits to Pillbox Hill Medical Center after flying through a windshield whilst testing that new Challenger's top speed on a highway are reduced to almost none! Oh, jolly days!
// What's under the hood?
It edits the materials.dat in a way that provides more grip, better surface friction on roads and less skidding for vehicles on tarmac, gravel, dirt, snow and wet surfaces all-combined. It also adjusts tyres' material properties to go along with new values to benefit your ultimate driving experience. Weeeee!
// How to
Simple. Just replace the materials.dat using OpenIV within the example path below:
Root:\Folder\Grand Theft Auto V\mods\update\update.rpf\common\data\materials
// Anything else that I need to know?
Nope, all's good, Jimmy. If needed, I can add the edited lines as a separate text file for download for those who wave a modified materials.dat. Tag me and I'll fly to your salvation.

i miss my nigga
https://www.gta5-mods.com/misc/realistic-road-grip-and-braking 1.7
@hossam_mekki
They are totally different. The mod you provided has loose surface edits and makes braking/sharp turning almost impossible. I'm working on a new update to allow a bit of drift with keeping a strong focus on being able to drive high speeds/doing maneuvers and not getting insta killed, as you should in a game like GTA.
Is this mod dead? update 1604 Arena War?
Certain cars stop completely when on dirt. Some others drive just fine. What's wrong? :/
@Masked are you still working on this? I've had some weird issues where some cars will only go like 5 or 10 mph especially dirtbikes after falling off.
it didn't work. driving any cars very sliding. can you make it easy driving as like as need for speed. thnks
Quite nice actually.
@Masked With "realistic" in the title, the last thing I expected to read was that this mod adds 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 grip. GTA V's stock handling already gives cars a ridiculous, unrealistic amount of grip. You can go from 100 mph to 0 in 2 seconds and corner at 60 like you're only doing 20.
Also, I tried the mod that hossam posted. The one you said made braking and sharp turning almost impossible. That's not true. It works great for me. It makes it 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 more realistic but removing some of the excessive grip R* put in this game.
TL;DR, my only issue with this mod is the use of "realistic" in the title. It is anything but.
